green vomit. No neon green vomit. That's how my morning started. Kaiden woke up fussy during the night but I just thought he had gas. He fussed but I was able to rock him back to sleep. I woke up around 6am and he was puking clear liquid, it was odd but I didn't think much. No more then 2 hours later came the "neon green vomit" the thing you dreaded as a gastroschisis parent that's the vomit that meant drop the world and get to the hospital. I wasn't excited about this at all. I panicked like anyone would do right...
I called my step mom sobbing telling her I need her to rush to the hospital and meet me to grab Knox, this is Kaiden's youngest big brother. I dropped the big two kids off to school and my mom meet me at the emergency room.
Of course, a doctor that's new to the department so he's working under another doctor. He wants to run labs and this and that. I panicked and screamed "he has an obstruction I. His bowel I want an X-ray now" he said what with a face of you don't know what your talking about and I said he was born with gastroschisis, we need an immediate X-ray. The other doctor came and said she's right get them one now!
We immediately were rushed in and within 30 minutes the doctors came back to advise we were being transported by ambulance to the university of Iowa hospitals and clinics.

he ambulance ride was easy, right before transport Kaiden was given benedryl to sleep so that he could keep nausea medicine down and feel some relief. When we got here to the university we came into the emergency department, where we waiting for the pediatric surgery team to come see us review the X-rays from before and to decide on a course of action for Kaiden. This took hours.
Finally, at 7 pm we were transferred up to or room. We are waiting, we need to do dye images tomorrow to clarify blockage areas and determine the next step for Kaiden. We have a ng-tube in, and we are on benedryl nausea and Tylenol for pain. We will suffer for tonight 😡👎
