We are starting off the visit today with our monthly growth scan, another 2 week fluid scan and then we have our first non stress test. Then we see the hirob.(High Risk OB).
Ultrasound looked good, you could really see Kaiden's intestines outside of his body today. I also took a video of my ultrasound because who knows I might make it to another ever in my life since Kaiden is going to be my last. I will try to post some ultrasound pictures as well as a video on the photos section of our blog. Also He is still head down, no complaints but boy is he head down. He is only weighing 3 lbs. 3 oz. (19%) he will be a little baby that is for sure. He should on average be over 4 lbs. already. I was sad to see how small he is still. His amniotic fluid levels decreased to a 79mm or 7.9 cm, they called this average still because its not less then 5 cm.
Now for them to take him earlier then our scheduled induction he would need to be under the 10% in his growth percentile and or under 5cm for fluid levels I believe is what they told me.
We went in and did my non-stress test, where yes they do give me my own set of belly bands that I have to bring back to the hospital EVERY WEEK when I have my appointments. (oh joys, a pregnant woman barely remembers herself let alone to bring the straps back, this will be a chore.) They hooked me up to the monitors, obviously one is for babies heart rate, the other is a contraction monitor I had to sit for 20 minutes, they were not concerned on his movements or reactions but they said next week they would be a lot more concerned about the stress levels of his environment. After I finished they made me pee in my weekly cup and wait in my ob room for the doctors.
Soon enough the doctors came in, by this time I was dry-heaving and not feeling good. They noticed I had been to l & d a couple of weeks ago, they wanted to recheck my cervix and see how things were going. I was now about 1.5cm and the same effacement nothing to freak out about. We again refreshed how now weekly I would be having NST, and biweekly ultrasounds & ob appointments. We again discussed a little about how I could be having him any week now and not to be shocked if I came in a week or two and was induced due to stress, fluid levels or growth. Also they strictly mentioned to me Babies with Gastroschisis tend to be earlier babies, and they put women into early labor so don't ignore the signs of this.
They wanted my blood to be drawn for my low iron again, which was still very low. And I am scheduled for my second non stress test this coming Thursday April 30.
