Saturday, we were still at labor and delivery. They told us we could go home or could stay it was up to me.
I took a breathe and just told them to send me home, I was obviously stressed inside these walls. I have been in labor for 2 full days already and I was miserable. Contractions were still present, not enough to dilate me at all.
My aunt, my cousin and me came back home. Settled into my place, took showers and decided we were going to go walk the mall try to help them progress some. I also decided I would get a manicure because my nails were gross. The lady suggested that I get a pedicure to try to help induce the labor if it was our time it would help. I said maybe later. After that my step mom brought me the kids so I could spend some time with them
We hung out, just spent some family time. Then my step mom got the kids and we went to the mall to get a pedicure. After my pedicure we walked around some and my contractions were really getting stronger. Knowing we were 1 hour away we headed to Iowa City. On the way we stopped at a rest stop to keep walking a little bit, then got back on the highway and ended up at Wal-Mart in Coralville. We walked there about an hour. Contractions were really freaking strong at this point. My cousin ate some subway and after that we walked the parking lot of Wal-Mart then walked over to Kohl's, they were still open until 11pm, so we walked through the store. My contractions kept coming so we headed back to the car and we were going to the hospital.
We got back to labor and delivery around 1130pm. They checked us in, put me on the monitors and I had to get the 20 minute non-stress test done before I could get off the bed and monitors to move around.
Well, at this exact moment I looked at my aunt and said actually I don't think I have felt him move much all day long.
My nurse and doctors came in after one hour on the monitor and said we are taking you for a bpp, she started to explain it and I advised them I have had 2 previously. I knew what it was. A bpp is a 1/2 hour long ultrasound where there baby has to do so much breathing, so many fetal movements, so many hand or foot movements and the amniotic fluid levels are checked. (by now it is Sunday morning)
After a 1/2 hour we got 4/8 on the ultrasound, that is a fail. At this point we received the 2 points for fluid levels and 2 points for fetal movements. Usually they would monitor you for 6 hours and redo the ultrasound but considering my pregnancy is high risk they advised us they wanted 2 hours of non-stress test followed by another bpp ultrasound.
2 hours passed we again failed our non-stress test. We went back for our second bpp. Another 1/2 hour ultrasound. Again we received the 2 points for our fluid level, he had moved positions from the previous ultrasound before we started our scan but they couldn't count that at all. So after 30 minutes. We again, FAILED the bpp we only got 2 out of 8 points this second time.
We were escorted back to our room and we had to wait for doctors to discuss what to do at this point. We were still contracting majorly and baby was now clearly in distress (I mean who wouldn't be when their momma has been in labor for 3 days). Doctors walked in, well we are inducing you. We are transferring you into the labor room #7 and we will start Pitocin in 1/2 hour.
