They started my iv, and advised me at 5 AM we would start the Pitocin and increase it by 2 every 30 minutes.
We started at 2 at 5 AM.
Wow, they mean business with Pitocin it certainly didn't take very long to kick my contractions into high gear. They were there, they were strong but I wasn't doing very much action.
I didn't want them checking me a lot because I didn't want to do an epidural because he was already in stress.
They wanted to check me at 1115 AM. I was 4 cms still, even with 6 hours of Pitocin. They decided they would break my water. At this point my Pitocin was at 16 and they left it alone now. There was meconium in the water, so Kaiden had a bowel movement in the womb, which meant they really had to clear his lungs when he arrived and NICU would probably have a higher rush on him getting out of the room. She checked me right after all my water was done and I was now 5 cms. Finally some progress. I knew this meant game time and these contractions were going to sore.
Around 1245 PM they checked me again I was 6 cms. I was furious because the pain I was going through was horrible. I had never felt so much pain in such a short amount of time in my life. I was miserable the nurse asked if I wanted to take a whirlpool, I was certainly up to trying anything at this point. So we went about that, got into the tub around 1 PM and was in there for about 30 minutes, I should have stayed in. I was feeling the contractions but they weren't as bad at all. After that I was miserable, They gave me some iv pain medicine it helped for only about 20 minutes we were now pushing onto 2pm.
I finally broke down and requested an epidural. At this point I got my epidural and it was done by 216pm. They laid me flat on my side like you have to be but I was in so much pain. I was screaming saying it still hurt, there is no way it shouldn't still hurt. The doctor who did my epidural, said wait a few minutes it should start to go away. My nurse agreed, they left me alone. My aunt and my cousin were sitting in there, Finally I screamed up at my aunt about 223PM and said it really freaking hurts something's wrong, she yells at my cousin the page the nurse. So my cousin pages and tells them we need a nurse in there. My nurse and the doctor come running in. Asking where my pain is I'm pointing to my lower left side and said its not going away it hurts so bad, I'm bawling at this point. The doctors getting her gloves on and says she sounds like she's a ten get ready.
Next thing I know they have me lay on my back so she can check me, she looks up and say's "She's a 10, call it at 229PM, Call peds, Call surgery." Next thing I know I am having an contraction at 231PM she says push, at 232PM she yells time, he's here and she's like wow your a good push one minute beautiful and you had him already." They had my aunt cut the cord and they handed him to peds and before I knew it they were rushing him out the door.
They cleaned me up, my aunt went with Kaiden and the doctors and my aunts came back in to tell me he's beautiful, they gave me a photo of him and they were taking him back for surgery already.
An hour later the surgeon came in told me that Kaiden was getting a full closure and he would be on morphine so when I seen him he wouldn't have a lot of life in him, and that he would slowly start to come out of it. He was here.
